Amber Johnson, PhD
As a nationally recognized scholar and researcher, Dr. Johnson’s work examines organizational culture, identity development, and transformative change. Their academic background in communication, with a focus on interpersonal, intercultural and strategic communication, anchors their coaching philosophy, allowing them to work deeply with the nuances of how humans connect, influence, communicate, and express their selves within organizations and relationships, translating research and expertise into strategies leaders can actually use.
In addition to their coaching work, Amber serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff in the Division of Equity & Inclusion at the University of California, Berkeley. Operating at the highest levels of institutional leadership, they advise senior executives, guide large-scale change efforts, lead cross-functional teams, and navigate governance, power, accountability, and culture within complex organizations. I offer tiered-pricing model that allows you to choose the rate that best fits your financial situation, such as a standard fee of $500 per hour, partial scholarships for individuals experiencing a career transition or mission-driven work, and a "pay-it-forward" rate, with the additional contribution directly funding coaching for others who may not be able to afford the standard fee, which creates a cycle of support. Beyond monetary payment, I am also open to bartering or trading a skill set in exchange for services. Additionally, for those with access to professional development funds, I can submit an invoice directly to your employer.
